Born in the U.S., Shizue has lived and worked in Asia, Japan, Australia, the U.S., and is now based in Europe.

After graduating from U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. in architecture, she worked first in Japan and later for an architecture design firm in San Francisco.

Her broad range of interests which first led her to architecture, developed into a love for film. She then went on to study film in the US and Germany, and graduated in 2000 from the "Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film“ in Munich.

Shizue has been working as a commercial director since 2000. Both her ads and short films have been awarded at international festivals.

Clients range from fashion and cosmetics to children and food. Her individual approach and feminine sensibilities are expressed in images that are stylish and sensual, always capturing the moment.
